Objeto (*): Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) are used for metal detection and total dissolved manganese detection in particular. Necesidad (*): ICP-OES is a trace level, elemental analysis technique that uses the emisión spectra of a sample to identify and quantify the element present. This technique was used to monitore concentration of metals in wastewater to investaigate the effect of the treatment performed within ELECTRON4WATER project. However, this technique is characterised by low precisión, therefore, ICP-MS was required to determine total dissolved manganese concentration. Manganese concentration was particularly important for the experiment, indicating the stability of the tested composite MnOx based electrodes.
